Community activist, member of indigenous group and adopted, raised by a English couple was the guest speaker at the zoom conference called by a Muslim organization Unity in the Community.
Clarke said the fact is that so many indigenous peoples have survived the discrimination, persecution, injustices and genocidal campaigns launched against them since the confederation by the then prime minister John A McDonald and successive governments until 1996.
Unfortunately, most academics, journalists, and filmmakers do not take the time to hear what these people have to say. He thanked UIC that it organized first ever of its kind conference by a Muslim organization in Ontario where Muslim community listened their stories.
Councillor Sameera Zuberi spoke on behalf of Muslim Community and shared her personal experiences pertains to indigenous people in Canada.
MPP candidate Imran Mian demanded for better opportunities for indigenous community and said,if elected, he will work for their better well being.
Fasih Syed, Faisal Javed, Junaid Siddiqui, Hamid Akbar, Imran Adhami, Ali Qureshi, Kashif Adhami and Mohammad Saleem also shared their experiences.
