CPR Education & Awareness Seminar

Mississauga, Ontario — September 23, 2026:

UIC Seniors Mississauga hosted another successful CPR Education & Awareness Seminar at Churchill Meadows Community Centre, bringing seniors and community members together to learn essential lifesaving skills.

The informative session was presented by Samiha Tariq and high school student Abeera Ahmad, who provided practical guidance and demonstrations on CPR techniques for adults and children.

Samiha Tariq presented Adult CPR, including a hands-on demonstration using a CPR training dummy. Participants had the opportunity to observe proper techniques and better understand how immediate action can help in a cardiac emergency.

Abeera Ahmad presented Paediatric CPR, focusing on the important differences involved in responding to emergencies involving infants and children.

The seminar emphasized the importance of knowing what to do in the critical moments before professional emergency responders arrive. Participants were encouraged to develop confidence in responding to cardiac emergencies and to share this knowledge with family members and caregivers.

UIC Seniors continues its “Health Education for All” initiative by organizing educational seminars that promote awareness, prevention, and healthier, safer lives for seniors and the broader community.
