Mushaira in Brampton

Brampton, Ontario — Unity in the Community (UIC Seniors Brampton) hosted a successful Mushaira in Brampton, bringing together a large number of poetry lovers for an evening celebrating Urdu poetry, language, arts and culture.

The event featured renowned poets from across Canada and Pakistan, who captivated the audience with their poetry and literary performances.

The participating poets included Dr. Shahina Kishwer, Abdul Hameed Hamidi, Asar Akbarabadi, Shamsuz Zaman Shad, Basharat Rehan, Fatima Zehra Jabeen, Qaiser Wajdi, Junaid Akhter, and Shoaib Nasir.

The large and enthusiastic audience appreciated the poets’ performances and celebrated the rich literary traditions of Urdu.

Unity in the Community continues its efforts to promote Urdu language, literature, arts and cultural heritage, while bringing diverse communities together through meaningful cultural programs.

UIC thanked all the poets, guests, volunteers and community members whose participation contributed to the success of the Mushaira.
