UIC Brampton Celebrates Pakistan Independence Day

Brampton, Ontario — August 16, 2026: Unity in the Community (UIC) Brampton proudly organized a vibrant Pakistan Independence Day Celebration in the Park at Eldorado Park, bringing together community members, elected officials, families and cultural performers to celebrate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.

The celebration was attended by Minister Shafqat Ali, MP Sonia Sidhu, MPP Amarjot Sandhu, Regional Councillor Martin Medeiros, Councillor Keenan and Councillor Rowena Santos, who joined the festivities and addressed the gathering with messages of community unity, friendship and goodwill.

The cultural program added colour and spirit to the celebration. Popular singers and performers Afroze Khan, Arif Syed, Mohammad Rafiq and Rukhsana Rizvi entertained the audience with beautiful performances, including national songs of Pakistan. Their performances created a festive and patriotic atmosphere throughout the event.

Fasih Syed, President of Unity in the Community, and Farman Khan welcomed the distinguished guests and community members and expressed appreciation for their participation and continued support.

The event provided an opportunity for families and friends to come together, celebrate Pakistani heritage and culture, and strengthen the bonds of unity, friendship and community in Canada.

UIC Brampton thanked all elected officials, performers, volunteers, organizers and community members whose participation made the Pakistan Independence Day celebration a memorable success.
