Unity in the Community Presents Seminar on Cancer Awareness & Education
Mississauga- Unity in the Community (UIC) successfully organized a Cancer Awareness & Education Seminar at Churchill Meadows Community Centre, bringing together community members to learn about cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
The keynote presenter, an oncologist from Scarborough Health Network Dr. Afshan Rana, delivered an informative and comprehensive presentation covering various aspects of cancer, including risk factors, screening programs, diagnosis, available treatments, and the importance of early detection. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights into maintaining their health and well-being.
UIC President Fasih Syed welcomed attendees and introduced the guest speaker. Coordinator Amjad Rana provided details of upcoming UIC programs and community events aimed at promoting health, education, and social engagement among seniors and families.
The seminar was well attended and reflected Unity in the Community’s ongoing commitment to educating and empowering the community through awareness initiatives and access to reliable health information.
