International Women’s day 2019

Canada is taking concrete actions to advance gender equality and empower women and girls both at home and around the world. As host of the Women Deliver 2019 Conference to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, from June 3 to 6, 2019, Canada will be engaging its citizens and global partners on how to make gender equality a reality for everyone, everywhere.
This was stated by MP Salma Zahid and Iqra Khalid in a seminar on gender equality hosted by Unity in the Community.
MPP Natalia Del Rosier said that her previous government was against discrimination on the basis of religion or ethnicities or gender.
Family mediator Jim Fitch, senior family lawyer Farzana Jiwani, educator Arliene Botnick and women rights activist Rabia Khider presented their papers. 
UIC recognised the remarkable services of prominent people including humanitarian Yasmin Dosani, Asma Khan, Umbreen Akhter,
poet Zakia Gjazal, community activist Julia Le and Rohingyan advocate Zainab Arkani.
