Unity in the Community Celebrates Canada Day at the Lake with Community Spirit and Giving
Unity in the Community (UIC) successfully hosted its vibrant Canada Day Celebration at the Lake, bringing together families, community leaders, and residents for an afternoon of patriotism, entertainment, and fellowship. The event was honoured by the presence of MP Fares Al Soud, MPP Sheref Sabawy, and Mississauga Councillor Joe Horneck, who addressed the gathering and extended their Canada Day greetings. MP Fares Al Soud and Councillor Joe Horneck joined UIC representatives in the ceremonial cake cutting, marking the celebration of Canada’s unity and diversity. UIC awarded appreciation award to Hamid Akbar, Saeed Khokar, Abdul Rashid for staying more than 50 years in Canada and best volunteer to Farman Khan. The event featured music, food, and activities that strengthened community bonds. On this special occasion, Unity in the Community also organized a fundraiser in support of Trillium Health Partners, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to community well-being and improved healthcare. UIC extends its sincere gratitude to all volunteers, sponsors, dignitaries, and attendees whose support made the celebration a memorable success.
